I must admit, there really isn’t a team left in the playoffs that I am a huge fan of, but there are some things happening in the playoffs that definitely interest me as a hockey fan. I went 50% in my round 2 predictions, and figured I better get my round 3 thoughts up as soon as I could.
Phoenix Coyotes (3) vs. Los Angeles Kings (8)
The Kings are the new favourite to win the Stanley Cup, and to be honest I can’t really argue against that. They have lost 1 game so far in the playoffs this year. They seem to be rolling on all cylinders and I really can’t see them losing more than a couple of games the rest of the way. Prediction: Los Angeles in 4 games.
New York Rangers (1) vs. New Jersey Devils (6)
This to me is a bit of a toss up. I was hoping this series would happen right from the beginning of this years playoffs, because these teams hate each other (Check this out to see what I mean). I think that New York has shown that they’re not unstoppable by going 7 games in the 1st and 2nd rounds. I feel like New Jersey is a stronger team than both Ottawa and Washington, so New York may be in some trouble here. Prediction: New Jersey in 7 games.
